Christian Lorraine Oriental Rugs is seeking candidates for the position of Rug Restoration Artist!

At Christian Lorraine, we specialize in the cleaning, repair and restoration of Oriental Rugs but also work on all kinds of different hand-made and machine-made rugs. Our restoration artists are expected to master a wide range of repair skills designed to address wear and damage to rugs with basic stabilization techniques all the way up to full restoration!

No restoration experience is required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with related work. Some examples of applicable hand skills include, weaving, all kinds of hand-sewing and embroidery, or a textiles, fine arts or restoration background. Successful applicants will be comfortable working in both a collaborative team based setting as well as independently. Patience and perseverance are a must!

We are also looking for applicants with a strong background in customer service. In addition to the repair work which makes up the bulk of our day, our restoration staff handle all in person customer service duties as well as answer phones. Basic computer skills are a bonus! Some heavy lifting is required as well as some light cleaning duties.
